Getting your API key directly from OpenAI ensures the best performance, reliability, and access to the latest features. This is the recommended approach for production use.
Visit platform.openai.com and sign up for a new account or log in to your existing one.
Navigate to "Billing" and add a valid payment method. OpenAI requires a credit card for API access.
Go to "API Keys" section and click "Create new secret key". Copy the generated key immediately as it won't be shown again.
Paste your API key in your FileBrain project settings under "OpenAI API Key" field.
OpenAI uses pay-per-use pricing. You only pay for the tokens you actually use. Check OpenAI's pricing page for current rates.
